About Us

New drug, transplant and cellular therapy trials are transforming the outcomes of patients with haematological malignancies. ACT was established to provide a sustainable infrastructure for conducting and accelerating specialised haemato-oncology trials in the UK, with diverse minds driving change.

Our areas of focus

We aspire to maximise the benefit of our portfolio of clinical trials for blood cancer patients by embedding genomics, diagnostics, and discovery science working with world class UK translational scientists.

We provide rapid delivery of a wide portfolio of blood cancer studies, from new drug and combination studies to stem cell transplant and cellular therapy trials.

We offer rapid delivery of both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials to registrational standards.

Surplus income is reinvested for the benefit of blood cancer patients.

Access to haemato-oncology expertise

A solution-driven in-house team of experienced clinical research professionals recruited from the pharmaceutical, CRO and academic sectors who are all driven by a mission to improve outcomes for patients with blood cancers.

Direct access to the TAP and IMPACT networks within NHS teaching hospitals comprised of specialised research teams which include research nurses, study coordinators and trial pharmacists dedicated to running haemato-oncology trials. The specialised haematologists leading the studies in each centre are leaders in their field and many are globally recognised experts.

ACT’s partner organisation DIDACT Foundation facilitates access to key stakeholders including opinion leading haematologists, specialist research nurses, statisticians, pharmacists, patients & support groups, representatives of the NCRI, blood cancer charities and the international trials community.
